Werner Enterprises
Werner Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ: WERN) is one of the largest trucking companies in the United States and has its headquarters in Omaha. Werner was founded in 1956 by Clarence L. Werner, who began his business with only one truck at age 19. As of 2006, the company has roughly 9,000 trucks, 25,000 trailers, and 14,000 employees in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and China. Werner maintains its global headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska with offices throughout North America and China. Werner is among the five largest truckload carriers in the United States.
